Entered into eternal rest on Friday, February 28, 2025, Mrs. Diana Davis Plowman, 84, loving wife of 61 years to Dr. Kent M. Plowman.
Diana was born in Miami, FL to the late William Henry and Montyne Bentley Davis on April 25, 1940. She later attended Miami Senior High School. Diana met the love of her life, Kent, when they were both attending the University of Miami. With God’s Providence, they fell in love quickly and were married a few months later on April 15, 1963. Upon graduation, Diana started teaching and Kent completed his PhD. Life for the young couple began as they started a family of their own. Their family grew while living in Madison, WI and then Blacksburg, VA. Following Kent’s medical school completion at MCV in Richmond, VA, the now family of 6 moved to Augusta, GA for medical residency at MCG. Due to a military obligation for Kent, they moved to San Antonio, TX for two years, before moving back to Augusta, GA in 1980.
Diana was a member of The Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church and also attended Saint Ignatios of Antioch Melkite-Greek Catholic Church. She taught high school English at Alleluia Community School and both English and Religion at Aquinas High School. She was a very classy and beautiful lady who had a wonderful sense of humor, right up to the moment she passed. Diana was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Family members, in addition to her husband, include her children: Kip Plowman (Tina), Scott Plowman (Luz Herrera), Nikki Boudreaux (Todd), and Jamie Plowman (Kari); grandchildren: Lauren Dolan (Franklin), Davis Plowman (Ashley), Morgan Plowman, Christian Herrera, Jack Boudreaux (Abby), Ashley Boudreaux, Courtney Boudreaux (Chad Johnson), Katie Plowman, and Caroline Plowman; great-granddaughter: Mary Sloane Dolan; sisters-in-law: Carole Davis and Kay Lightle; and many other loving family members. She is preceded in death by her parents and younger brother, Bill Davis.
