Evans, GA – Entered into rest Thursday, June 12, 2014, Martin “Dixon” McGregor, Sr., 71, husband of Carol Cain McGregor.

Mr. McGregor was a member of Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church. He worked as an accountant for Murray Brothers and in sales with Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. Mr. McGregor was the treasurer and President of the Woodbridge Property Owners Association. He was known as “The Mayor” of Woodbridge. His grandchildren were his heart.

Family members in addition to his wife include son: Matt McGregor (Heather) of Evans; daughter: Amy McGregor Farley (Mark) of Dacula, GA; grandchildren: Trey and Morgan McGregor and Sarah and Hannah Farley; brother: Charles McGregor; and sister: Mary Yeomans.

A funeral service will be Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church with Rev. Greg Hatfield officiating. Interment will follow in the McGregor Family Cemetery at Corinth Christian Church in Girard, GA. Pallbearers will be John Frasier, Johnny Jenkins, Robert Bargeron, PJ Testino, Terry Williams, Benny Barefoot, Steve Cassell, Bill Richardson, Steve Miller and Ray Wren. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Adult Couples and Singles Sunday School Class at Trinity on the Hill.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church 1330 Monte Sano Ave, Augusta, GA 30904, Bethesda United Methodist Church at Mobley Pond, 3894 Harmony Church Road, Girard, GA 30426 or to the Corinth Christian Church Cemetery Fund c/o Mrs. Ann Perry, 581 Perry Road, Girard, GA 30426.
