AUGUSTA, Ga. – Mr. Don Clayton Bell, 64, husband of Julie McClellan Bell entered into rest on Thursday, November 26, 2009. Mr. Bell graduated from the Academy of Richmond County as an ROTC Cadet Colonel. Don was retired from the construction industry. He was a single working dad and raised a beautiful daughter. He was devoted to his wife, children and grandchildren. He enjoyed going to the movies, spending time on the computer, fishing, and sitting on the back deck conversing with his wife. He also loved to give unsolicited advice.
Family members in addition to his wife include his daughter: Nikki Pfluke, husband Doug of Littleton, CO; stepdaughters: Allison Choate Yawn, husband Taylor of Evans, Tara Choate Davis, husband Scott of Roswell, GA, Shannon Choate Walstad, husband Carlton of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren: Devan and Madison Yawn, Lakelynn, Hayden and Anthony Pfluke and Emma Walstad; sister: Shirley Hilson of Augusta along with several nieces and nephews. Mr. Bell was predeceased by his mother and stepfather: Lucille and Willie Clarke; father: Robert Bell and his two brothers: Gene and Steve Bell.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 29, 2009 at 4:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Ryan Heath officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 1105 Furys Lane, Suite D, Augusta, GA 30907 or the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 1132, Fairfax, VA 22038-1132.
