Donna J. Barrett

Augusta, GA – Donna Jo Barrett, 79, daughter of Margaret and Basil Myrick of Tennessee, loving and caring wife of 50 years to J. Michael “Mike” Barrett, and beloved Granny to many, entered into rest January 19th, 2022 at Doctor’s Hospital. ​

​Family members include son: Jeff (Jeanice) Barrett; daughter: Lisa Bradford; sister-in-law: Eudora Myrick; and grandchildren: Jared (Maegan), Josh, and Jake Barrett, and Emma Bradford; and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband Michael “Mike” Barrett and her brother Jerry Myrick.
​Donna was a retired physical therapist at St. Joseph’s Hospital. She spent many years helping patients and family members alike through home Health Care and Hospice. She left a profound impact on all she met through the care she provided and the lives she touched.

​She was an active member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, especially in Sunday School, small group bible studies, and also enjoyed time with friends as a member of the Bible Study Fellowship where she made lifelong friends. Donna was a proud member of the Fab Five and the Three Musketeers, two groups of her very close friends at Aldersgate. She was a talented seamstress, pianist, and knitter. She enjoyed playing a variety of board games and puzzles, from Mahjong to Monopoly. Donna loved flowers, butterflies, and angels which were present both throughout the house and in the Thomas Kinkade paintings that she loved so much. She loved spending time with family and hosting countless Sunday lunches and holiday dinners in her home.

A memorial service will be held Friday, March 18, 2022 at 10:00 A.M. at Aldersgate United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
