Augusta, GA - Dorothy Close Wilson, 88, died Wednesday May 18, 2016, at University Hospital. A native of Pittsburgh, PA, Mrs. Wilson was born April 20, 1928, to the late Edward George Close and Margaret A. Gray Close. She also was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, James Paul Wilson.
Funeral services will be at 11 am Saturday at the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, 825 Greene Street in Augusta with the Rev. David Hunter officiating.
Mrs. Wilson spent most of her married life in San Diego, CA, and moved to Hephzibah nine years ago. She was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection. A creative person, she enjoyed basket weaving, sewing and crafts. She most recently was a resident at Elmcroft Senior Living Center in Martinez, where she took up painting.
She is survived by her children Jamie and Alan George of Hephzibah and Gregg and Luanne Wilson of Los Banos, CA; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
