Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Thursday, August 30, 2012, Mrs. Dorothy “Dot” M. Evans, 84, wife of Mr. William M. Evans.
Mrs. Evans was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and Joy Sunday School Class. She had many friends that she loved dearly. Mrs. Evans was a loving wife for over 66 years, mother, homemaker, and grandmother.
Family members in addition to her husband include son: Randy “Scooter” Evans (Tracy) of Augusta; daughter: Linda E. Mimmie (Larry) of Martinez; and granddaughter: Shannon S. Chambers (Robert). She is preceded in death by daughter: Debra Ann Evans; and brothers: Jimmy and Harold Mills.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 1, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Hillcrest Baptist Church with Dr. L. Gordon Robinson officiating. Mrs. Evans will lie in state beginning at 10:00 A.M. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Honorary pallbearers will be the Joy Sunday School Class and Ruth Sunday School Class.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hillcrest Baptist Church, 3045 Deans Bridge Rd., Augusta, GA 30906 or to the American Cancer Society, 2607 Commons Blvd., Augusta, GA 30909.
