Augusta, GA - Dorothy "Dot" Thomas McIntosh, 91, loving wife of 66 years to the late James "Jim" McIntosh went home to be with her heavenly father on Sunday, August 20, 2023. Even though it broke our hearts to lose her we know she is so happy to be reunited with the love of her life and her precious daughter she missed so much. Her beautiful smile, the sound of her laughter and the loving spirit she always shared with her family and friends will be missed terribly.
Dorothy retired from Sears after 25 years of service. She was a member of Miracle Baptist Church where she loved doing the flowers for the podium and decorating at Christmas. She enjoyed traveling with the love of her life to the mountains and always looked forward to the trips spent visiting her family she loved so much in North Carolina. She enjoyed collecting depression glassware and Madame Alexander dolls. She spoiled her family and friends with her love of baking. Everyone always looked forward to her delicious red velvet cake. Her favorite thing when football season came was to be dressed in her red and black ready to cheer on her Georgia Bulldogs.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter: Valerie McIntosh Icenhour(Guy); granddaughters: Angela Rutland(Shane), Jamie King(Adam) and Heather Hughes(Chris); great grandchildren: Joshua and Kyle Rutland, Gracie and Alex King and Owen, Colin, Dylan and Summer Hughes; sister: Donnie Hendricks(Paul); brothers: Ray Thomas(Carolyn) and Worth Thomas(Judy).
