Dorothy “Dot” Oliver Locke

Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Wednesday, September 29, 2010, Mrs. Dorothy Oliver Locke, 82, wife of the Late Jack Toby Locke.

Mrs. Locke was a native of Panama City, FL, and had resided in the Augusta area for the past 2 years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Panama City, Gulf Coast Woman’s Club, Panama Country Club Women’s Auxiliary and Golf Association. Mrs. Locke also served as a Volunteer at the Family Service Agency in Panama City, FL. She was the McCormick Memorial Golf Tournament Honoree in 2001, many golf championships from 1952-2005 and had 3 Hole-in-one’s. Dot considered her greatest achievement her children. She was devoted to her children, her husband Jack, golf, her church and community, and gulf coast living including fishing, scalloping and crabbing.

Family members include her children: Becky Colcord Moon, Rachel Colcord Tarr and Eddie Colcord, stepchildren: Kay Locke Smith and John Locke, grandchildren: April Tarr and Cami Simmons, surviving brother: Walker Oliver of Panama City, other family members: Genie Carruthers and Ann Digsby of Panama City.

A Memorial service will be held here in Augusta on Saturday, October 2, 2010, 1:00 P.M. at Marvin United Methodist Church with Rev. Chuck Moon and Chaplain Allan Tarr officiating.

The family will receive friends in Augusta on Saturday, October 2, 2010 from 12:00 Noon until 1:00 P.M. at Marvin United Methodist Church.
