Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Sunday, February 14, 2016, Mrs. Dorothy Creech Sandifer, 88, wife to the late Winfrid C. Sandifer.
Mrs. Sandifer was an active member of 57 years at The Hill Baptist Church. She was valedictorian of her High School class and was a graduate of Winthrop College. “Dottie” loved the Lord, her church, friends and family.
Family members include her daughters: Sheryl S. Evans and husband Sammy of Appling, GA, Jane Safford of Charleston, WV; sons: Winfrid Clifton Sandifer, Jr. and wife Sylvia of Milan, GA, Gene Allen Sandifer of Augusta, GA; granddaughters: Jennifer Evans and Caitlin Safford; grandsons: Tripp Evans, Justin Safford, Brandon Safford, Mitch Sandifer, Wesley Sandifer, and Jacob Sandifer; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her grandson, Sam Evans.
The funeral service will be Thursday, February 18, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Fred Gunter and Rev. Bill Youngblood officiating. Burial will follow in Westover Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Hill Baptist Church, 2165 Kings Way, Augusta, GA 30904 or to Olar Baptist Church, P.O. Box 127, Olar, SC 29843.
