Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Wednesday, August 4, 2010, Mrs. Dorothy Dowling Hammond, wife of the late Edward C. Hammond.
Mrs. Hammond was a resident of the Augusta area and a member of Church of The Good Shepherd.
Family members include her children: Dudley Stevens of Atlanta, GA, Rick Rodgers of San Diego, CA, Tom Rodgers of Galesville, MD, Lee Ash and husband Michael of Augusta, GA, 3 grandchildren: Adrian Ash, Lindsay and Joanna Rodgers, several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Hammond was preceded in death by her son Kent Rodgers.
A Memorial service will be held Saturday, August 7, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at Church of The Good Shepherd with The Reverend Robert Fain officiating. A private burial will be held at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.
The family request in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to Church of The Good Shepherd, 2230 Walton Way, Augusta, GA 30904.
The family will receive friends after the service in the Parish Hall.
