Augusta, GA – Mrs. Dorothy Nixon Hodges, wife of the late Winston Hodges, entered into rest on March 6, 2017 at Brandon Wilde Pavilion in Evans, GA.

Mrs. Hodges was born August 14, 1927 in Mississippi and made her home in Augusta in 1955. She was married to Winston Hodges for 65 years. Mrs. Hodges owned the Forest Hill Beauty Salon for many years. In retirement, she enjoyed her membership and many activities in the Womens Club of Augusta and the Red Hat Society. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Augusta where she attended the Anna Bannister Bible Class.

Mrs. Hodges is survived by nephews: Thomas L. Davis (Ann) of Memphis, TN, Michael J. Davis (Donna) of Sanford, Fl., Frank M. Nixon (Cynthia) of Yellville, AR, Gwen A. Nixon and Randall C. Nixon (Jane) of Byhalia, MS and great nephews: Michael J. Davis, Jr. (Leigh) and Thomas J. Davis.

The family wishes to express thanks and affection to her friend and coworker, Pat Sumerau (Ed, Shannon), and all the staff of Brandon Wilde who lovingly cared for Mrs. Hodges.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 9, 2017, 2:00 P.M., in the Storey Chapel at First Baptist Church of Augusta . Entombment will follow at Westover Memorial Park.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Anna Bannister Bible Class.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until the time of the service.
