Dorothy J. “Dot” Colman
Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Sunday, October 16, 2011, Mrs. Dorothy J.
“Dot” Colman, 86, beloved wife of 65 years of the late Lt. Col. Philip E. Colman.
Mrs. Colman was preceded in death by her parents Robert Sangster Carpenter and Pearl Varina Johnson.
Mrs. Colman was born in 1925 in Houston, TX. She was a 1942 graduate of Patti Welder High School in Victoria, Texas.
Dorothy was a long time employee of The Toy Box, Augusta, GA. She also enjoyed many years visiting her home in Flat Rock, NC. Dorothy loved animals and rescued many to which she gave a home.
She is survived by a brother, Robert Sangster Carpenter, Jr. and wife Lorraine; a daughter, Candace Rossignol and husband Bill; two sons, James Robert Colman and wife Gwen, Philip E. Colman II and wife Linda; two granddaughters, Amy and Kelly; one grandson, Kyle; and two great-grandchildren.
The family would like to express a special thank you to Teresa Tuten, Becky Baker, Ann Badke and Heather Giles.
Graveside services will be held Friday, October 21, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Westover Memorial Park with Chaplain Myron Ivey officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.
