Augusta, GA- Dorothy Morris Moss passed over to the Beautiful Life with our Lord on Tuesday, October 25, 2016. She was born in Moultrie, Georgia on July 28, 1927 and was the oldest daughter of Elise Preston and Soloman Daniel Morris. Dot is preceded in death by her sister Suzanne Baker and the love of her life, John Marvin Moss Jr. to whom she was married for 68 wonderful years. In addition to Dot's love for her family and friends, she had a passion for playing bridge with the CSRA Bridge Club and the Camellia Bridge Club. As an accomplished bridge player, she obtained a Life Master Designation in Duplicate Bridge competition. Many will remember, in her earlier years, her skills in tutoring algebra to scores of Augusta high school students.
Survivors are four sons and their wives, John III (Patricia), Larry (Anne), Preston, (Traci), and Morris (Amy) Moss, eleven grandchildren, Madison Harper (Siobhan), Marc Harper (Tzara), Ash Moss, Brittany Moss Kruithof (Adam), Layton Moss, Mobley Moss Brandenburg (Ben), Daniel Moss (Aidan), Megan Moss, Hampton Moss, Carlee Moss, and John Patten Moss and five great-grandsons, Lucas, Henry and Lewis Harper, Laurence Gransbury and Jack Kruithof. She is also survived by her sister, Soleta Baird (Dudley), brother in law, Bob Baker, the Johnson family cousins and many much-loved nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Covenant Presbyterian Church with Rev. Stu Ritter, Rev. Karla Conduit-Daniels and Dr. G. Daniel McCall officiating. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of CSRA Bridge Club and the Camellia Bridge Club. The family would like to thank her care givers Pat Davis and Betty Douglas for all their love and support.
