Dorothy "Dottie" Shockley

Dorothy (Dottie) Ellen Porch Shockley, 89, entered into rest on April 28, 2024, after a brief illness. She was predeceased by her late husband Richard L. (Dick) Shockley. She is survived by her son, Stephen Shockley of Evans, Ga, daughter in law, Debra L Shockley and granddaughters Lindsey Shockley (son Dayton), Caitlin & Barrett Gilham (Daughters Blair & Riley May) & Daughter, Teryl Klova and her husband Jeffery of 
 Sicklerville, NJ and grandson Stephen of Philadelphia, PA.

She was raised in Penns Grove NJ as a life-long Baptist who believed firmly in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.  She attended public school and graduated from Penns Grove High School. After Graduation she went to work for DuPont where she met her future husband Richard L. Shockley who attended the Citadel Military College in SC. She followed him to Charleston where they continued their courtship until marrying on News Year Eve 1954.

During her active life with Dick, they lived in many different cities until retiring to Augusta, GA 30 years ago. Dottie lost Dick 14 years ago and continued to be active in Newcomers, dancing and playing various card games with many of her beloved friends until she passed suddenly.

Memorial services will be held at Poteet & Son, 214 Davis Road, Augusta, GA on Thursday, May 16^th at 11:00 AM.
