Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Monday, August 10, 2009 at the Medical College of Georgia, Dr. Francisco Ignacio Cuartas-Hoyos, 69 husband of Ariana Villegas Cuartas.
Dr. Cuartas-Hoyos was a native of Medellin, Columbia and had resided in Augusta for the past 17 years. He was a retired Colonel as a doctor in the U.S. Medical Corp for 20 years and was a member of St. Mary on-the-Hill Catholic Church.
Family members in addition to his wife include his daughter: Elena Cuartas-Villegas of Augusta and son: Juan Francisco Cuartas-Villegas of Colombia, South America.
The Funeral Mass of Resurrection will be held Saturday, August 15, 2009 at 12:00 Noon at St. Mary on-the-Hill Catholic Church with Rev. Gerald Ragan celebrant.
Dr. Cuartas-Hoyos will lie in state at his residence, 2529 Walton Way, Friday, August 14, from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. with a Vigil service at 8:00 P.M.
Memorials may be made to the MCG Facility and Spouse Scholarship Fund, c/o Treasurer Jan Murray, 745 Bradberry Creek, Evans, GA 30809.
