Augusta, GA – Dr. William E. Stewart, 82, passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2013.
Dr. Stewart graduated from Emory and received his PhD from Florida State University in Nuclear Magnetic Resonance. He worked at SRP as a Senior Research Associate and served in the US Air Force. He was of the Lutheran faith. Dr. Stewart loved his animals Apple, Jessie, Daisy, and Molly.
Family members include his loving wife Barbara Bannester Stewart; sisters: Rebecca Brewer, Jenny (David) Narrie; and children: Dr. Frances P. Stewart, Dr. David and Tammy Stewart, Pete and Kim Stewart and grandchildren William and Jennifer Stewart. He is preceded in death by his parents: Julian and Adele McDougal Stewart; daughter: Susan Delane Stewart; and sister: Sandra Taliaferro.
A memorial service will be held Monday, December 16, 2013 at 4:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Pastor David Hunter officiating. The family will receive friends starting at 3:00 P.M. until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to one’s favorite pet rescue group.
