Dunbar Dyches, Jr.

Dunbar Hammond Dyches, Jr., 83, entered into rest on February 2, 2024.

He was born in Augusta, GA to the late Dunbar and Ruby Dyches and a life-long resident of Augusta. He was a graduate of Richmond Academy and the University of Georgia. Dunbar loved his wife, children, and the Georgia Bulldogs.

Dunbar is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife Elizabeth “Betty” Busbia Dyches of Augusta, daughter Elizabeth “Betsy” (Tommy) Capers of Martinez, son Donald “Don” (Bonnie) Dyches of St. Augustine, FL, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Dunbar served in the U.S. Air Force before returning to Augusta to embark on a career in Insurance, as owner of the Insurance House of Augusta, owner of DeVaughn, Dyches & Leonard Insurance, and eventually retiring from Dawson Taylor Insurance.

There will be a graveside service in his honor at Westover Memorial at 2:00 pm on Monday, February 5, 2024.
