Mr. Earl J. Powell

Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Tuesday, August 22, 2017, Earl James Powell, 89, Loving husband of Ann Powell.

Mr. Powell was born in Augusta and was a member of Victory Baptist Church, which he loved. He was a veteran of the Korean War. Earl always wanted to make sure his family was taken care of. He was a great father and husband, loved any kind of sports especially auto racing. Mr. Powell was a very generous person and was known for his big heart.

Family members, in addition to his wife, include four sons: James Earl Powell of North Augusta, SC, Charles E. Powell, Joseph Fredrick Powell, David Earl Powell all of Augusta; and daughter-in-law Debra Powell; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two sisters: Theresa Maddox and Juanita Walden.

A funeral service will be Friday, August 25, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Victory Baptist Church with Dr. Reverend Larry Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Westover Memorial Park. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of his Sunday School Class.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests, contributions be made to Victory Baptist Church, 620 W. Martintown Road, North Augusta, SC 29841.
