Greensboro, GA – Mr. Earnest Lee Wilson, 80, entered into rest Tuesday, September 6, 2011.
Mr. Wilson was born in Oglethorpe Co, raised in Greene Co., and was a U.S. Army Veteran. He moved to Augusta in 1955 where he worked for DuPont until his employment with Sears Automotive retiring after 34 years of service. He was a member of F&AM #718 and a 32nd degree Mason. His passions were bird hunting and raising beef cattle.
Family members include his daughters: Sheri W. Dixon (Billy) of Appling, the late Andrea W. Ring; longtime companion, Pam Compton of Greene Co.; grandchildren: Lauren Jackson, Zoye Ring, Daniel Ring; one great-grandchild; sisters: Erie Brinkley, Gene Nichols, Shirley Anderson, the late Myrtie Ree Taylor; brother, the late George Wilson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 9, 2011 at 7:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son. Honorary pallbearers for the service will be Sears Automotive Retirees. Interment will be held Saturday, September 10, 2011 at 3:00 P.M. at Bethesda Church Cemetery, Union Point, GA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 2807 Washington Rd., Ste B#146, Augusta, GA 30909.
