Edgar Rigdon

Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Saturday, June 28, 2014, Mr. Edgar “Jim” “Cooter” J. Rigdon, 69, husband to Donna S. Rigdon.

Mr. Rigdon was a native of Jacksonville, FL but has lived in Augusta for the last several years. He retired from the United States Army with over 20 years of service and served two tours in Vietnam. Mr. Rigdon loved fishing, gardening, and fixing anything for anybody anytime.

Family members in addition to his wife include daughter: Cindy Jo Rigdon; son: Ronald Lee Rigdon; stepson: Chris Lippard; brother: Levi Willis Rigdon (Diane); sister: Roxanne Ohar (Bob); grandchildren: Nicole, Lawson, and Makayla; great grandchildren: Jada Belle and Kingston; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Anna Ruth Rigdon, parents, Willis and Ada Belle Rigdon, and by his stepson, Timmy Lippard.

A memorial service with full military honors will be held Saturday, July 12, 2014 at 12:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Tom Kalliokoski and Rev. Keith Ethridge officiating.
