Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Wednesday, October 3, 2018, Mr. Edwin Wayne Storey, 84, beloved husband of the late: Jacqueline “Jackie” Graves Storey and preceded in death by his son, Edwin Clay Storey.
Family members include his children: Mark Allen Storey (Doris), Stacey Storey Bentley (Ricky), and Amy Storey Hunt (Kevin); grandchildren: Josh Storey (April), Amelia Boylan (Eric), Ryan Dixon, Allison Oliver, Kyle Bentley, Patrick Bentley (Heather), Christopher Campbell, Kaila Hunt, Jordan Hunt, Madelyn Hunt, Lydia Hunt; daughter-in-law: Joy Storey; and 12 great grandchildren; brother: A.C. Storey and Danny Storey; sister: Patricia Qauttlebaum.
Mr. Storey, known by many as E.W, was a native of Augusta, although some of "the best times in his life" were spent at Fishing Village in Plum Branch, SC at the marina run by his parents. He served in the US Navy. He owned E.W. Storey and Son Specialty Masonry. He was a master brick mason, an incredibly talented woodworker, and an accomplished fisherman at both Santee Cooper and Clarks Hill. He was the ultimate example of what a good man should be and lived every day for his family...He left some big shoes to fill. We will miss you dad, papa, big papa!
The funeral service will be Sunday, October 7, 2018 at 3:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Pastor Lance Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
