Elaine Hanson Peterson

Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Monday, September 23,2024, Mrs. Elaine Hanson Peterson, 76. 

Elaine was a faithful member at Pineview Baptist Church. She taught Faith Sunday School Class, Team Kids and children’s church and especially loved singing in the choir. Elaine was a Medical Coder working for University Hospital for 34 years and then for Augusta Surgery Center for an additional 18 years before retiring. Not being able to sit still in retirement, she then worked for Hospital Corp. of America (HCA). Elaine never met a stranger; she loved people and most of all loved the Lord. She was a loving and caring wife to her husband Bob of 20 years. She will be missed by all that knew her.

A heartfelt thanks goes to Augusta Gardens Assisted Living Community for the care and compassion they gave to Elaine and her family.

Family members include her stepdaughter: Ginger Gruba (Dennis); grandchildren: Jeremy Gruba, Jason Gruba and Matthew Gruba (Bridget); niece: Shirley Jones; great nephews: Brent Jones (Kelsey) and Chad Jones (Caylee) and brother-in-law: Jerry Campbell. She was preceded in death by her husband: Bobby Ray Peterson, parents: Harold and Kathleen Hanson; sister: Phyllis Campbell; brother: Harold P. Hanson, Jr.; grandson: Christopher Jones and nephew: Michael Phillip Hanson.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, September 28, 2024 at Pineview Baptist Church at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. John Kilpatrick officiating. Interment will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens. 

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Pineview Baptist Church, 119 Pleasant Home Rd, Augusta, GA 30907.

The family will receive friends on Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church.
