Eldridge David Gibbs Jr.

Grovetown, GA – Entered into rest on Wednesday, March 17, 2021, Eldridge David “Dave” Gibbs, Jr. 82, loving husband of Deanna Johnson Gibbs.

Mr. Gibbs was a lifelong resident of the Augusta area. After graduating from Clemson University in 1961, Dave was self employed for several years as a Food Service design consultant. Most recently, Mr. Gibbs retired after working as a construction manager with the Aiken county government. He was a devoted member of Philadelphia United Methodist Church, serving as church treasurer for many years. Mr. Gibbs was a kind and generous Christian man, who remained steadfast in his faith. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother.

Family members in addition to his wife include his children: Jewell Miriam Gibbs, Laura Marie Gibbs, Linda Catherine Houle (Richard), Joseph David Gibbs, Eric Glenn McConnell (Michelle Suzanne); 17 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sister: Martha Anne Bagby (Roger); and loyal canine companion: Wall-E. Mr. Gibbs was preceded in death by his parents: Catherine and Eldridge David Gibbs, Sr and his sister: Nancy Godowns.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 12:00 P.M. at Philadelphia United Methodist Church with Rev. James D. Hyder, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Bellevue Memorial Gardens.
