Eleanor Peterson

Eleanor Faughnan Peterson entered into rest Friday, November 24, 2023 at the age of 74 years old.

She is survived by two daughters, Ashley Peterson Brown (John-Clark Brown) of Augusta, GA, and Alison Peterson Brown, Boise ID. She is survived by three grandsons John T. Brown, Miles M. Brown and Grier A. Brown and preceded in death by her only granddaughter, Frances Faughnan Brown.

Eleanor never met a stranger. She had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed playing practical jokes on unsuspecting family and friends. While being a cradle Catholic, Eleanor loved faith and practiced saying the Rosary everyday. She was a member of St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, William A. Faughnan Dorothy B. Faughnan. Eleanor was one of eight children. She is preceded in death by three brothers, Billy Faughnan, Jim Faughnan and most recently Mike Faughnan.

Eleanor has four remaining siblings. Ann F. Ronchetto, Grainvalley, MO., Patrick D. Faughnan (Anerys) St. John’s Island, FL, Catherine B. Faughnan and Margaret E. Faughnan, both of Augusta. Eleanor also leaves many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews that she loved dearly.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Friends of Frances (www.friendsoffrances.org) or Catholic Social Services, 811 Twelfth Street, Augusta, GA 30901.

The graveside service will be held Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. in Westover Memorial Park with Fr. Mark Ross officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
