Elizabeth B. Chesnut
Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Monday, November 7, 2022, Mrs. Elizabeth B. Chesnut, 98, loving of wife of the late George Ray Chesnut.
Elizabeth was a native of Athens, GA and obtained a BS of Dietetics at the University of Georgia. After moving to Augusta, she worked for University Hospital as Chief of Dietetics. Elizabeth was very active in the community in Augusta as Administrative Assistant at Red Cross, volunteered as a Pink Lady at University Hospital, March of Dimes and was a member of Beta Sigma Phi, M-Club at Modoc Shores, and several bridge clubs. Elizabeth also a charter member and very active at Covenant Presbyterian Church.
Family members include her children: Beverly C. Chesnut Franklin and Roger Ray Chesnut; grandchildren: Lesley Chesnut Palmer, Brian Joseph Chesnut and Matthew E. Franklin. She was preceded in death by her husband: George Ray Chesnut; parents: Clara May and Bert Bisson; brothers: Bert G. Bisson, William C. Bisson and Ernest F. Bisson.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, November 12, 2022 at 11:00AM in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. David Bohling officiating. A private burial for the family will be held at a later date at Oconee Hill Cemetery in Athens, GA.
Memorial contributions may be made in Elizabeth’s honor to a charity of one’s choice, some of Elizabeth’s favorite were FOTAS in Aiken, Samaritan’s Purse and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
