Evans, GA – Entered into rest on Saturday, January 18, 2025, Elizabeth Lee Dillard, 86, loving wife of 64 years to Bobby Lee Dillard.
Liz was born in Mountain View, Oklahoma and was delivered by her grandfather, Dr. Y. A. Howell. Elizabeth graduated from Carnegie High School in 1956 and Oklahoma Baptist University in 1959. Majoring in business and minoring in music. She began her bookkeeping career working for a team of Oklahoma geologists and married Bobby Lee Dillard in 1960. She followed her husband with his work with the US Public Health Service and eventually settled in Denver, Colorado where she raised her family. She became an admission counselor, trustee and president of the Alumni Association of Oklahoma Baptist University and was known as the “Green & Gold Lady,” proudly displaying those colors of her Alma Mater. Liz was also a member of the Bisonette traveling choir. Her love of music carried over to her church ministry and she was her sons’ first choir director, led congregational singing, and was a member of several church choirs. Wherever she went she volunteered in various ministries, including being a founding benefactor of House of Little Angels Orphanage in Manzanillo, Mexico, multiple clothes closet and food pantry ministries. Liz loved her family deeply; their love of golf gave them various outings as a family. She moved to the Augusta area almost 10 years ago to be closer to family.
Family members, in addition to her husband include sons: Dave Dillard (Leslie) and Rob Dillard (Angel); grandchildren: Drew Dillard (Claire), Maggie Dillard, Katy Speakman (Troy) and Reagan Dillard. She was preceded in death by her parents Herbert and Willa K. Howell.
The memorial service will be held Thursday, January 23, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. in the Worship Center at Warren Baptist Church with Dr. David McKinley officiating.
The family will receive friends Thursday, prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 A.M. in the Worship Center.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Broad Street Ministry Center, 20 Broad St., Augusta, GA 30901.
The family would also like to thank the caregiving services of CSRA Just Like Family and the caregivers: Anna, Mary, and Dominique.
