Martinez, GA – Entered into rest Tuesday, February 7, 2012, Mrs. Elizabeth Blackwell Hancock, 94, wife of the late Mr. Lewis Victor Hancock.
Mrs. Hancock was a native of Spartanburg, SC. She spent fifty years of her life in Watson, LA and moved to Augusta in 2001. She worked as a teacher for Secondary English at the East Baton Rouge Board of Education and was member of Live Oak United Methodist Church in Watson, LA where she was very active until her illness.
Family members include daughter: Elizabeth Guerrieri (John) of Martinez, GA, son: Lewis Edward Cudd, Jr. of Fort Walton Beach, FL, grandchildren: Lisa B. Harrison (William) of Roswell, GA, Stephen Rushing Biossat IV of Chicago, IL, Jamie Mixon (Shaun) of Anderson, SC, Michele Clark (Daniel) of Alpharetta, GA, Mike Abad (Cheryl) of Phoenix, AZ, Marc Guerrieri (Carol) of Clarkston, MI and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 10, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at Thomas Poteet & Son Chapel with Rev. Pat Williams officiating. Interment will follow at 4:00 P.M in Floyd Cemetery, Spartanburg, SC.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 1899 Central Ave, Augusta, GA. 30904.
The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
