Elizabeth Mulherin

Augusta, GA – Catherine Elizabeth Mulherin, 94, loving wife of 34 years to the late Patrick Rice Mulherin, entered into rest Sunday, August 18, 2024.

A lifelong resident of Georgia, Elizabeth was born to the late Marvin and Eleanor Parrish. As a result of her late husband’s sports announcing career, she was an avid sports fan. She was a charter member of the Irish American Heritage Society and their 2015 Irish Lady of the Year. She worked 40 years at Silverstein’s Cleaners as a secretary for 3 generations of the Silverstein family.

Family members include her children Pat Mulherin (Marie), Karen Brooks (Vinny), Maureen Sanders (John), Teresa Logue (Rusty), Ann Terracino (John), and Jim Mulherin, 17 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Mary Yonce and Sheila Keilholtz. 

The family would like to thank Southeast Hospice for their love and care of their mom.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, August 26, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. at St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church with Fr. Mark Ross and Fr. John Lyons as celebrants. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be her grandsons Jason Mulherin, Vincent Brooks, Duane Yonce, Bryant Rushing, John Keilholtz, Ben Keilholtz, Stephen Logue, Austin Logue, Joey Mulherin and Justin Mulherin.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church, 1420 Monte Sano Avenue, Augusta, GA 30904. 

A family Rosary will be recited Sunday, August 25, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. at Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors, 214 Davis Rd., Augusta, GA 30907 (706) 364-8484, with a visitation immediately following from 2:30-4:30 P.M.
