Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Friday, February 24, 2012, Mrs. Elizabeth Theodora Zimmerman Murray, 88, wife of 64 years to the late Joseph Bruker Murray.
Mrs. Murray was a native and life long resident of Augusta. She was fun loving and affectionately known as Me Ma. Mrs. Murray was a Go-Go Granny and loved to be out and about with family and friends. Me Ma loved everyone and showed all who even breezed by her with warmth, kindness and fun.
Family members include daughters: the late Annette Scoggins Shiver, Cindy Murray Hornsby and JoAn Murray Owens; grandsons: Billy Shiver, Ronnie and Joseph Owens; granddaughters: Lori Horne, Julie S. (Scott) Edwards, Kathryn H. (Dave) James; great-grandsons: Hank Edwards, Bruker Parker, Brandon Johnston and Taylor Johnston; great-granddaughters: Payton, Maddie and Emma Shiver, Chapman and Lindsey James; great-great grandsons: Hayden and Bryson Parker.
Mrs. Murray was preceded in death by her siblings: Bill Zimmerman, Harold Zimmerman and Delores Zimmerman Davis.
Graveside services will be held Sunday, February 26, 2012 at 3:30 P.M. at Hillcrest Memorial Park with Rev. David Thompson and Rev. Tom Kalliokoski officiating. Pallbearers will be grandsons. Honorary Pallbearers will be great-grandsons.
In lieu of flowers Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Hospice, c/o St. Joseph Foundation, Inc., Trinity Hospice Memorials, PO Box 31358, Augusta, GA 30903.
The family would like to offer a special thanks to the staff at Trinity Hospice especially Dr. Conkright, Rev. Tom, Frankie, Chaplains, nurses: Terri, Amy, Lillie, Amanda, Brenda, Susan and Tami for their loving support and compassion. Also loving care from Lillie Thomas, Leslie and Brandon Johnston.
