Ellen L. Cox

Evans, GA – Entered into rest on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, Mrs. Ellen Lindsay Cox, 88.

Family members include her granddaughters: Lindsay Huffman Brooker (Brian) and Bethany Huffman Gantt (Patrick); eight great-grandchildren Grayson, Rinna Bethany, Libby, Rhett, and Gentry Cate Brooker; Walker, Belle, and Holland Jane Gantt. and son-in-law: Rodney Scott Huffman. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert E. Cox and daughter Laurinda Cox Huffman.

Ellen was a faithful, devoted wife to Bob for 57 years. Their deep love and affection for one another was evident to everyone around them. She supported him and their daughter Laurinda as Bob worked across the country as a member of the IBEW. Ellen was a faithful member of the local church she and Bob planted themselves while living in multiple cities during their life together. An avid reader and learner, she taught Sunday school for over 50 years, and was a member of the Circle of Sisters prayer group during her time at Lewis Memorial UMC.

The funeral service will be held Friday, March 17, 2023, at 3:00 P.M. at Lewis Memorial United Methodist Church with Pastor Ben Wills and Patrick Gantt officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church following the services.
