Augusta, GA – Ellen died Friday evening, June 27, 2014, surrounded by family.
She was the daughter of Kathleen Smith Wallace and the late Shelby Lee Wallace, Jr. Ellen was born in Augusta, GA and graduated from The Academy of Richmond County and the Medical College of Georgia. She retired in 2011 from the Charlie Norwood Veterans Administration Hospital as the Director of Quality Management, after 33 years of service. Ellen was a lifelong member of The Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, serving in multiple ministries within the church.

She is survived by her husband, David: four children; Rett Harbeson (Anna Beth) of Augusta, GA; Justin Harbeson (Jennifer) of Grayson, GA; Kristen Elliott (Ricky) of Augusta, GA; and Mindy Harbeson of Atlanta, GA; five grandchildren: Carter, Drew, Elizabeth and Reid Elliott, and Avery Harbeson; and three siblings: Martha Kinsler (Jimmy) of McCormick, SC and 3 nieces; Leslie Holley (Joe) of Augusta, GA; and Lee Wallace of Augusta, GA. She is also survived by a brother in law, Lee Harbeson (Cindy) of Grayson, GA and 2 nieces.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday, July 1st at The Lutheran Church of the Resurrection. In lieu of flowers, Ellen has requested memorials be made to The Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, 825 Greene Street, Augusta, GA 30901-2233.

The family will receive friends after the service in Reiser Hall at the Church.
