Elvia Salinas Aranda, 97 beloved wife of the late Jesus Aranda, entered into rest on November 5, 2022 at Brandon Wilde. Elvia was born and raised in Pharr, Texas.She married Jesus Aranda on December 4th, 1948 and while Jesus was in the Army and was stationed in Germany they traveled throughout Europe.

Elvia enjoyed working with her church, St. Joseph Church and held many leadership roles. She was President of their Parish Council of Catholic Women, for 3 terms. Worked with the Augusta Deanery Council of Catholic Woman, and held the offices of Vice-President and 1st. vice -president . She initiated the publication of a Deanery Cookbook. Elvia served on the Atlanta Province, National Council of Catholic Woman's Board and also served on St. Joseph's Pastoral Council. For her distinguished work with her church, she was honored by being given the Bishop Garland Service Award, by the Diocese of Savannah in 2003.Elvia was a remarkable mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Elvia enjoyed spending time with family, cooking, traveling and her favorite was dancing.

Elvia worked in the medical field for 20 years as an administrative assistant and helped the doctors with their patients.

Mrs. Aranda is survived by her children Joey J. Aranda (Mary Ann), Pia A. Hagler, Jimmy J. Aranda (Melinda), grandchildren, Katie Aranda McFarland (Jason), Aaron J. Aranda, Michael B. Hagler, Jr., Gould B. Hagler II( Amy), Emily H. Johnson( Rob), Amelia V. Aranda, Parker J. Aranda. great -grandchildren, Tyler B. Hagler, R. Benner Johnson, Lee G. Johnson, Gould B. Hagler III, Carolyn E. Hagler, Mary Hilley Hagler.

The family would like to give special thanks to Meaner Turman, personal caregiver. Regency Southern Care Hospices Services, Alayna Edwards & the staff at the Arbor- Brandon Wilde.

A private graveside service will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Father Mark Ross will offer the Rite of Christian Burial.
