Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Saturday, August 18, 2018, Mrs. Emily Louise Sanders, 96, loving wife to the late Captain Emory Earl Sanders.

Mrs. Sanders was a lifelong resident of Augusta. She worked as a bookkeeper for 33 years, retiring at the age of 88. She was a longtime member of Mize Memorial United Methodist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother and mother-in-law. The family would like to thank the staff at Keysville Nursing Home for all their love and care.

Family members include her daughter: Connie Kitchens (Donald); sons: Freddie Sanders (Teresa) and Rusty Sanders (Kim); grandchildren: Kathy Stanley (Jimmy), Ricky Sanders, Laurie Sanders, Greg Kitchens (Robin), Mark Kitchens (Toni), Rhonda Rourke (Bud), Rusty Lee Sanders (Kristin), Nicholas Sanders (Donna), and J.D. Sanders (Kristin); numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; sister: Nancy Adams; brother: Jimmy Landrum (Janice); and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her son, Carl Sanders, and five siblings, W.M. Landrum, Betty Wheeler, Barbara Cloy, Margie Strickland and Frances Crouch.

The funeral service will be Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Sonny Mason officiating. Burial will follow in Pierce Memorial United Methodist Church Cemetery.
