Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Saturday, December 24, 2016, Mrs. Emma H. Black, 85, loving wife of the late Charles A. Black.

Mrs. Black was a charter member of Miracle Baptist Church and was the church treasurer for over 20 years. She owned and operated Emma’s Tax and Bookkeeping for many years before retiring in 1998.

Family members include her sons: Henry Black (Elaine) of Blythe, GA, Auley Black (Debbie); daughters: Wanda Hatfield (Dick), Charlotte Reilly (Bob), all of Augusta, GA, and Karen Arnett (Tommy) of Hephzibah, GA; 12 grandchildren: Travis Black, Tara Winters, Douglas P. Black (Emily Anne), Tess McDade (Allen), Russell Black, Janel Weathers (Charles), Andy Black (Crystal), Douglas E. Black, Kimberly Womack (Jay), Shane Arnett (Tamara), John Allen Arnett (Jennifer), and Shannon Thomaston (Jim); 27 great grandchildren & 3 great-great grandchildren. Brother: Carey B. Connell, Jr (Jeanne) of Graceville, FL.; sister, Faye Cunningham (Al) of Oxford, GA., as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be Friday, December 30, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. John Bartlett and Rev. David Shelton officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be grandsons.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Miracle Baptist Church, 1308 Hephzibah - McBean Rd, Hephzibah, GA 30815.
