Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Friday, September 07, 2012, Mrs. Emma Ruth Lane, 83, loving wife of 65 years to Mr. Robert “Bud” Lane, Sr.
Mrs. Lane was a native of Wrens, GA and graduated from Wrens High School. In her youth she worked as an operator at Southern Bell and later as a nutritionist for Creative Day Care. She loved the Lord and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and the Trinity Sunday School class. She was a devoted, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Family members in addition to her husband include daughters: Gail Shafer (Bob), Gloria Shell (Dino) and Sandy Millburn (Mark); sons: Bob Lane (Gwen) and Jerry Lane (Rosa); 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 9, 2012 at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Dwayne Carter officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Pall bearers will be Travis Lane, Brian Montgomery, Bobby Shafer, Kevin Shell, Trey Poteet, Mike and Nick Doggette.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 2510 Richmond Hill Rd., Augusta, GA 30906.
