Evans, GA – Entered into rest Wednesday, April 4, 2012, Mrs. Emma Ruth Salter, 82, wife of Douglas J. Salter, Sr.
Mrs. Salter was a native of Bridgeport, AL and had resided in Augusta for the last 40 years. For 22 years she had worked as a hostess at the Town Tavern and for 13 years she was a hostess at Sconyers Bar-B-Que. Mrs. Salter was of the Baptist faith.
Family members in addition to her husband include daughters: Judy D. Moore and husband James of Hephzibah, GA, Sandy Bradford and husband Ralph of Travelers Rest, SC, Cheryl Ann Ross and husband Eddie of Corpus Christy, TX; sons: James David Dixon of Augusta, GA, Douglas J. Salter, Jr. of Martinez, GA,
sister: Kay Rogers of Jasper, TN, brothers: Merle Cates and Junior Cates both of Bridgeport, AL; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 6, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Thomas Poteet and Son with Rev. Greg Glover and Rev. Kelly Gunter officiating. Entombment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park Mausoleum.
