Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Sunday, February 5, 2017, Ennis E. Thomas, Jr., 71, loving husband of 55 years to Nancy Grimaud Thomas.
Mr. Thomas was a lifelong resident of Grovetown, Ga. He owned and operated Thomas Auto Service since 1976. Ennis was an avid mud racing enthusiast driving Mad Max, War Wagon, Murphy’s Law and The Heart Beat of America, he was known as the “king of mud racing”.
He was a man who loved one women all of his life, he was a family man that solved all the family problems. He was a man of his word. He was a member of Trinity Baptist church for 40 years and practiced his Christianity.
Family members, in addition to his wife, include his daughters: Angela Raley (Vic), Laura Thomas Boulet (Chris); son: Robert Michael Thomas (Merry Christmas); grandchildren: Jon Thomas Salazar, Lauren Timmons, Josh Bottoms, Cheyenne Harvey, Katie Dye, Dylan Jarrett, Josey Thomas, Ava Grace Thomas; great grandchildren: C.J. Timmons, McKayla Salazar, Cruz Thomas Salazar, Cash Timmons, Caroline Timmons, Hensley Witten and sister: Frances Lewis.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. K. C. Stevens officiating. Burial will follow in Bellevue Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be his racing competitors.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home and Wednesday from 10:00 until the time of service at the church.
