Grovetown, GA – Entered into rest Friday, June 10, 2011, Mrs. Ernestine Marie Peacon, 82, wife of the late Eugene C. Peacon.
Mrs. Peacon was a native of Lulu, FL and resided in the Augusta area most her life. She was a member of Belair Baptist Church. Mrs. Peacon retired after 35 years of service with Bellsouth as an assignment clerk. She was an active member of Telephone Pioneers of America.
Family members include her daughter, Julie Morris and husband Gene of Grovetown; sons: the late Robert Kersey of Middleburg, FL, Donald Kersey and wife Suzi of Stillmore, GA; sisters: Margeline Hines and husband Homer of Science Hill, KY, Phyllis Loadholt and husband Doyle of Lake City, FL; brothers: Edsel Tyre and wife Shirley, Ronald Tyre, Russell Tyre, Rodney Tyre, all of Lake City, FL; daughter-in-law, Barbara Kersey of Middleburg, FL; 7 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. David Brooks officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Stewart Morris, Tommy Price, Randy Stroup, Tony Taber, Jeff Couch, and Rickey Storey.
Memorial contributions may be made to Belair Baptist Church Building Fund, 599 South Old Belair Road, Grovetown, GA 30813.
