Ethel V. Wylie
Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Wednesday, May 27, 2015, Mrs. Ethel V. Wylie, 95, wife of the late Dr. Moffatt Hardeman Wylie and the late William Davies Eve.
Mrs. Wylie was a native of Charleston, SC but lived most of her life in Augusta. She was a member of Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of Richmond County Medical Society. Mrs. Wylie volunteered during World War II while her husband “Hardt” was away at war. Mrs. Wylie was a member and past president of Summerville Garden Club. She enjoyed golf and was a member of the Augusta County Club since 1947. She attended the Masters Golf Tournament yearly since 1948. She and Dr. Wylie loved to travel and enjoyed many trips to Edisto Beach and Tybee Island. Mrs. Wylie loved University of Georgia football and was an avid Bulldog fan.
Family members include son: Dr. William Joseph Wylie; daughter in law: Christina Carlisle Wylie (Hardy ‘s wife); grandchildren: Moffatt Hardeman Wylie, III, Jane Seabrook Wylie Wilson, Wayne Carlisle Wylie, Allan Moffatt Wylie, Ernest Miller Wylie II and Amber Wylie Gracie; and 3 great grandsons. She was preceded in death by her sons: Moffatt Hardeman Wylie, Jr and Ernest Miller Wylie.
A graveside service will be Friday, May 29, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. Westover Memorial Park with Dr. Matthew Rich officiating.
