Etholene Blackledge Maier

Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Sunday, March 20, 2011, Mrs. Etholene Blackledge Maier, 87, wife of 67 years to Arthur F. Maier.

Mrs. Maier was a native of Laurel, Ms. She moved to Augusta in 1968 from Oklahoma City, OK. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Maier was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Metropolitan Womans Club and Merry Weeders Garden Club. Mrs. Maier loved to travel all over the world, she loved family cruises, gardening and flowers. Mrs. Maier loved to cook, eat and play bridge. She worked at the Richmond County Board of Education from 1969 to 1976 as an Administrative Assistant.

Family members in addition to her husband include daughters: Patricia Wallace (Gary) of Oklahoma City, Karen Dye (Paul) of Augusta, grandchildren: Skip Wallace ( Kelly), Paul H. Dye IV (Beth), Nicholas M. Dye (Lael), great-grandchildren: Thomas Arthur Dye and Lucy Kathryn Dye.


Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church with Rev. Roger Schwartz officiating. Interment will follow at Westover Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Paul Dye, Gary Wallace, Paul Dye IV, Nicholas Dye, Skip Wallace and Jim Blackledge.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Elders Aid Fund c/o
Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 402 Aumond Road, Augusta, GA 30909 or to a charity of ones choice.
