AUGUSTA, Ga – Mrs. Eubie Lanier Turner, 98, widow of the late Lonnie Jim Banks and Claude Turner entered into rest Monday, April 8, 2013. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 11, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at Thomas Poteet and Son, 214 Davis Road in Augusta, Ga. Interment will be in Statesboro, Ga at Eastside Cemetery, Highway 80, East Statesboro, Ga at 3:00 P.M.

Surviving is her daughter Ann Banks Heath and her husband George Lewis Heath; and three grandchildren, Jimmy Heath and his wife Angie; Stanley Heath and his wife Amie; and Susan Lanier and her husband Hal. Also surviving are four great grandchildren, Lauren, Jordan, Keirsten and Timothy Heath. Mrs Turner was preceded in death by her daughter Jean Akins Reed and her husbands Carl Akins and James Reed.

Mrs. Lanier Turner was born in Bulloch County, Ga on February 18, 1915. Her parents were Cora and R.L. “Bub” Lanier of Statesboro, Ga. She worked hard as a child on the Lanier family farm growing tobacco and cotton. As a teen she was employed at a Statesboro ten cent store. Once married to Lonnie Banks they purchased the Lakeside Dairy Farm in Metter. After many years of hard work she retired at the Grimes Jewelry in Statesboro.

She was the 3rd child out of 11 children. Living are 3 sisters, Ollie Dixon, Alva Barford and Cora Lee Dyson.

Her family would like to give special thanks to providers Ethel Lane of Statesboro and Sallie Jones of Augusta for their loving care of Mrs. Lanier Turner in her final years.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Primitive Baptist Church, 4 South Zetterower Ave, Statesboro, Ga, 30458.
