Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Thursday, February 13, 2014, Mrs. Eunice Polk Jones, 89, wife of the late Clarence R. Jones.

Mrs. Jones was a member of Trinity-on-the-Hill United Methodist Church for 64 years and was a member of the Susannah-Wesley Circle. She attended Columbia College and was a teacher at Tubman and Langford High School for a total of 17 years in the Richmond County School System.

She was President of the Country Hills Garden Club of Georgia, a national accredited flower show judge, member of the National Teachers Association and DAR. She also served as Treasurer of the South Carolina DAR for 8 years.

Family members include daughters: Susan V. Flynn (John) of North Augusta, SC, Debbie J. Brown of Augusta, GA; 3 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; sister: Mary Polk Bryant; nephews: Ernest F. Polk, Jr.; great niece: Marie Polk Von Roekel; and great nephew: Ernest F. Polk, III.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Trinity-on-the-Hill United Methodist Church with Rev. Greg Hatfield officiating. Burial will follow in Westover Memorial Park. Honorary pallbearers will be the Susannah-Wesley Circle.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity-on-the-Hill United Methodist Church, 1330 Monte Sano Avenue, Augusta, GA 30904 or to Heartland Hospice, 208 Pitcarin Way, Suite A, Augusta, GA 30909.

The family will receive friends at the church Tuesday starting at 1:00 P.M. until the time of the service.
