Evelyn A. Ackerman

Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Sunday, July 21, age 101.

Evelyn was born in Grand Forks, ND on September 18, 1922. She graduated from Thompson High School. She grew up when times were tougher and so were the people. All her family members worked diligently on their family farm with no electricity or hot water, and field work and transportation were done by horses and carriages. Evelyn worked hard preparing meals for farmhands and was a devoted mother and wife. She lived a long and happy life, despite outliving most of her friends. In the latter years, Evelyn enjoyed the simple things – time with family, bird watching and nature. To keep her mind alert, Evelyn regularly did word games and word puzzles throughout the day. She had a strong faith in God and spent much of her day in prayer, which she credited her long life. Her positive outlook and grateful spirit impacted all who knew her.

Family members include her sons: Gary Ackerman (Marie) and Mike Ackerman (Colleen); brother: Lyle Fralich; 5 grandchildren: Lisa McArdle (Eric), Angela McBride (Joe), Chris Ackerman (Kristina), Sheri Loiacono (Dan) and Patricia Ackerman; 15 great grandchildren: Alanna McArdle, Alyssa Girard (Brian), Ashlin McArdle, Anya McArdle, Ava McArdle, Madison Zabala (Nick), Meghan McBride, Mia McBride, James McBride, Brennan McBride, Sydney Ackerman, Jacob Ackerman, Brooke Loiacono, Ryan Loiacono and Lindy Ackerman, 7 great-great grandchildren: Aylee Girard, Brian Gray Girard, Theo Girard, Isabella Zabala, Colette Girard, Timotheus Loiacono and Zion Loiacono, and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her son: Francis Ackerman, Jr.; daughter-in-law: Linda Ackerman; sisters: Delores Koehler and Lorraine Molvig; brother: Loren Fralich; and the father of her children: Francis Ackerman, Sr.
