Mrs. Evelyn Hope Van Kuiken Buckley

Augusta, GA –Mrs. Evelyn (Val) Hope Van Kuiken Buckley, 90, entered into rest Sunday, March 14, 2010.
Mrs. Buckley was born in Maple Plain, Wisconsin and grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She served in the U. S. Navy as a WAVE during World War II and later worked in Civil Service at Fort Gordon, GA. She was a member of St. Mary On The Hill Catholic Church. She loved crafts, birds and flowers.
She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, John Lawrence Buckley; one son, Jack Buckley of North Augusta, SC.; two daughters, Marcia Evans of Asheville, NC; Diane (Dee) Buckley of Norfolk, VA.; one granddaughter, Chelsea Evans of Asheville, NC.; sister, Helen Darsnek of IL.; brother, Louis Van Kuiken of Arizona, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors with Father Jerry Ragan officiating. Interment will follow at Westover Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests, those desiring, please make contributions to their favorite charity.
The family would like to thank all the staff in the ICU department at Doctor’s Hospital for all the kindness shown Mrs. Buckley.
