Upon graduation from Nursing School she entered the U.S. Army Nurse Corps and was commissioned a Lieutenant. While overseas she met her future husband, First Sergeant Claude “Buck” Landreth. Married in February 1946, the young couple moved to Augusta, Georgia where Buck was stationed at Camp Gordon. She cared for others and never thought of herself, making a positive impact in the lives of others that cannot be measured in human terms.
