Hephzibah, GA – Entered into rest on Wednesday, September 29, 2021, at her residence, Mrs. Evelyn “June” Brown Skeens, wife of the late Garnett Eugene Skeens.
June was born in Spanishburg, West Virginia on June 5, 1935, to Roscoe H. and Margaret McPherson Brown. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She retired from University Hospital where she worked as a Patient Representative and Social Worker. A private burial will be held later in the McPherson Family Cemetery in Kegley, West Virginia.
Family members include her daughters: Sandra Gail Skeens, Vickie Skeens Cox, Debra Skeens Deaton (Chris) and Sherry Skeens Buffington (Frank); her son, the late Timothy Eugene Skeens and her son in law, the late James Edward Cox, Sr. Grandchildren: Shannon Marie Skeens Driggers (Greg), Timothy Shawn Skeens (Mary), Christopher Adam Skeens (Jenn), Jaclyn Rachel Partain, James Edward Cox, Jr., Lindsay Marie Cox, Joshua Andrew Cox (Carolynn), Christa Ann Deaton Rolon (Pedro), Alyssa Evelyn Deaton Walker (Stephen), Erica Renee Seeman, Ashley Renee Skeens and Aaron Ashley Skeens Atkins (Beth); 19 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
