Evans, GA – Entered into rest Wednesday, January 26, 2011, Evelyn Turner, 96, wife of the late Col. Max H. Turner.

Mrs. Turner was a resident of Brandon Wilde since 1998. She was a member of Fairview Presbyterian from 1960. Mrs. Turner played the organ for church services throughout the world. She was a member emeritus and Past Worthy Matron of the Martinez Chapter Order of Eastern Star #464. Mrs. Turner was the organist for the Order of the Eastern Star, State of Georgia. She was also a member of Daughters of the American Revolution. Mrs. Turner had been past Grand Organist for various Grand Chapter meetings throughout her long association with the Order of Eastern Star. She was the last surviving daughter of 5 sisters.

Surviving family members include sons, Dale Turner (Bonnie) of Richardson, TX, Major (Ret.) Richard Turner (Mary Lou) of Evans, 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Arbor at Brandon Wilde for the great love and care they have shown throughout the many difficult years of her decline.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 29, 2011 at 3:00 P.M. at Fairview Presbyterian Church in North Augusta, SC, with Dr. Robert Fuller, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fairview Presbyterian Church, 1101 Carolina Avenue, North Augusta, SC 29841-3457.

The family will receive friends Friday evening, from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
