George was born in Flushing, New York to the late Wilhelm and Emily Stickel. He served in the US Air Force for 4 years. George earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Connecticut and worked as an x-ray technologist for several different hospitals and medical centers.
He enjoyed several hobbies including writing, poetry, hunting and fishing. He was very passionate about nature, woodlands, boating, and the oceans.
George is survived by his sons Andrew Stickel and Robert Stickel, his grandchildren – Grey, Jackson, Asher, Lily, Ally, Jacob, and Emmy, and his brother, Walter Stickel, and his nieces and nephews – Jeanie, Jean, Louis, Janet, and Jesse.
