Augusta, GA –Mr. Floyd Montgomery Harrison II, 81, loving husband of the late Bonnie W. Harrison, entered into rest on Wednesday, November 3, 2021.
Mr. Harrison was a native of Augusta, Ga and lived in the Augusta area all his life. He was the son of the late Dr. F. Nick Harrison and Nancy Battle Harrison. Mr. Harrison graduated from The Citadel in 1963 and from the University of Georgia School of Pharmacy in 1966. He was co-owner of South Augusta Pharmacy and later sole owner and operator of Harrison Drug Store where he proudly served his community until 1979. He continued to work as a pharmacist for other companies in the Augusta area until his retirement. He was a member of the Gideons International Organization since 2009. He was a long-time member of Warren Baptist Church in Augusta where he served as a deacon. Currently he was serving as deacon and greeter at Woodlawn Baptist where was a member.
Mr. Harrison always put family first. He dearly loved his children and grandchildren. He and Bonnie held “Camp Harrison” each summer for the grandchildren until her death in 2007. He coached the Augusta Eagles home school golf team. Mr. Harrison enjoyed serving at his church, reading, building, and flying model airplanes, the Georgia Bulldogs, and golf.
Survivors include his children: Amy Harrison Kittrell (Danny) of Columbia, SC; Floyd Montgomery Harrison III (Darlene) of Evans, GA; grandchildren: Bradley Kittrell (Jordanne), Andrew Kittrell, Patrick Kittrell, Floyd Montgomery Harrison IV (Emily), Gabriel Harrison, Abram Harrison, and Christian Harrison; sisters Deeny Alford, Linda Bargeron (Robert) of Evans: brother Dr. Frank N Harrison (Debbie) of Charlotte, NC; brother-in-law Robert T Williams (Linda) of North Augusta, SC and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Dr Wayne Harrison of Cincinnati, OH and his brother-in-law Chris Alford of Evans, GA.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at 11:00 A.M. at Woodlawn Baptist Church, Columbia Road. with Rev. Floyd Harrison, III officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
