Augusta, GA – Fr. William F. Peterson, 80, entered into rest Sunday, December 7, 2014.
Fr. Peterson served as a civilian as Diocese of Rockford, IL and as an Army Chaplain in Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Virginia, Texas, California, Georgia, Korea, Vietnam, and Germany.
Family members include his sister-in-law: Virginia Don Peterson and a number of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brother, John Mansfield Peterson.
A funeral Mass with full military honors will be Thursday, December 11, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church with Fr. David Arnoldt and Fr. Michael Ingram and Priest in attendance celebrants. Burial will follow Friday, December 12, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. in Beaufort National Cemetery, Beaufort, SC. Knights of Columbus Council #8495 will serve as honorary escorts.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church Building Fund, 4921 Columbia Rd., Grovetown, GA 30813.
